Marmara Group Foundation; Within the framework of the EU Project (Turkish Youth and Women for Democracy Project) implemented together with the Turkish Women's Union and the DTI German-Turkish Institute for Education, Culture and Politics made a visit to Istanbul Deputy of AK Party Mr. Şamil Ayrım in his office in Parliament. The members of the delegation which formed by Müjgan Suver, Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Ebrar Demir, Ömer Yıldırım from Marmara Group Foundation, Demet Erdemir and Yasemin Kültür from Union of Turkish Women, Kenan Kolat, Ertekin Özcan and Cem Gençtürk from German-Turkish Institute for Education, Culture and Politics, presented information about the project applied to Istanbul Deputy of AK Party Mr. Şamil Ayrım. Istanbul Deputy of AK Party Mr. Şamil Ayrım also gave information about the work of the Assembly to young people and women.

Marmara Group Foundation; Within the framework of the EU Project (Turkish Youth and Women for Democracy Project) implemented together with the Turkish Women's Union and the DTI German-Turkish Institute for Education, Culture and Politics made a visit to the Grand National Assembly. The first visit of the Marmara Group Foundation, which visited the parties in the TGNA group, was to Deputy Chairman of the Parliament and Deputy Chairman of MHP, Istanbul Deputy Mr. Celal Adan. The Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Deputy Chairman of the MHP, Mr. Celal Adan, was informed about the project activities and exchanged views on the responsibility of young people and women in democracy by Müjgan Suver, Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Ebrar Demir, Ömer Yıldırım from Marmara Group Foundation, Demet Erdemir and Yasemin Kültür from Union of Turkish Women, Kenan Kolat, Ertekin Özcan and Cem Gençtürk from German-Turkish Institute for Education, Culture and Politics.

Ambassador Hüseyin Danış Tunagil, martyred in Vienna, was commemorated

Ambassador of Vienna Daniş Tunalıgil, martyred by ASALA militants on October 22, 1975, was commemorated with a ceremony held in front of the embassy building where he was martyred. Representatives of the Austrian Turkish community were also present at the ceremony attended by Turkish diplomats, particularly the Ambassador of Vienna Ümit Yıldırım. Birol Kılıç, one of the volunteers of Marmara Group Foundation, was present at the Commemoration Ceremony.

National Day of Hungary celebrated

The Hungarian National Day was celebrated with a Reception by the Consul General of Hungary Laszlo Keller at the Hungarian Cultural Center in Istanbul. To the reception which is attended by Ambassador of Hungary to Ankara Viktor Matis, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Cemalettin Özdemir, President of Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions of many countries attended. Speaking at the event, which started after singing the national anthems of the two countries, Ambassador Viktor Matis and Consul General Laszlo Keller talked about the values of Turkish-Hungarian relations and the democratic structure of the Hungarians.

Visit to Beşiktaş Municipality

Students from Beykent Univesity visited the Besiktas Municipality within the scope of our Project. During the visit, students obtained information on youth and women studies that municipality conducts. Deputy Mayor of Besiktas Zeynep Karaman stated that young people and women should take part in all democratic processes and showed their sensitivity in this field in field studies.

Visit to Consul General of Kosovo Saranda Osmani

Visit to Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu's Museum

Dr. Akkan Suver was accepted by former President Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu during his official visits in Bucharest. After visiting Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu, Dr. Akkan Suver visited the Romanian Geological Institute, where former present served there as professor for years. On the ground floor inside the University, the authorities of the Geological Institute, which devoted a large area to Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu, created a Museum in his name. He donated all the gifts given to him throughout his life and his Presidency.

Youth Participation on Democracy Seminar Completed

Seminar on Participation of Young People in Democratic Processes within the scope of the Turkish Youth and Women for Democracy project conducted by Marmara Group Foundation was completed. In the seminar held at Beykent University Taksim Campus, Müjgan Suver, Engin Köklüçınar, Doc. Dr. Dr. Armagan Özakman and Dr. Nihan Bozok took part as speakers. The participation of the students to the seminar was high with the mutual exchange of views on the mechanisms and importance of youth participation in democratic processes.
