Şamil Ayrım Took Part in the Visits of President Erdoğan to Baku and Nicosia

Şamil Ayrım took part in the visits of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who visited to Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus after re-inauguration as president. They first visited the mausoleum of founding president of Azerbaijan Haydar Aliyev and then Baku Martyrs' Lane on the first official visit which was made to brother Azerbaijan. President Erdoğan, who attended a joint press conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, also made an official visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was welcomed by his counterpart TRNC President Mustafa Akıncı, put a wreath at the Statue of Atatürk in Nicosia and then participated in a dinner that was organized in honor of him. Baku and Nicosia visits were accompanied by Tuğrul Türkeş, former Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Takes over Turkey’s Presidency

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was elected as the President of Turkey in the presidential election which was held on June 24, 2018, proceeded to the official ceremony attended by the 50 foreign leaders at the presidential complex in Ankara's Beştepe district after he took oath of office in July 9,2018 at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He started his speech with a prayer and said "I am begging My God as in the first day which I was announced as a candidate for presidency. Then Erdoğan continued his words as following: "The people chose us on June 24. We will try to be worthy of our nation with the awareness that we are the president not only of those who voted for us, but all 81 million citizens of Turkey. Today, we are making a fresh start. In this new era, I hope we will take the steps for the reforms to be realized with our cabinet by working together.” Şamil Ayrım, Deputy President of the Marmara Group Foundation and Member of Parliament from Istanbul and Dr. Fatih Saraçoğlu, Secretary General of the Marmara Group Foundation also participated in the oath ceremony.

We lost Şarık Tara

We lost Şarık Tara, is the founder of ENKA Holding. He was one of the leading names of Turkish industrial world. Şarık Tara always had an important place in education and culture as much as it is in the Turkish industry. Dr. Akkan Suver said that the passing away of Şarık Tara is the loss of Turkish intellectual business world. Dr. Suver said the following: We all felt very sad when we heard that he had passed away. Deceased Şarık Tara was not only a businessman, but a heartfelt man. He gave great importance to the activities of the Marmara Group Foundation in the area of civil society and he always appreciated the high success of the foundation in Eurasian Economic Summits. He, was one of the distinguished participants of our meetings, honoured our activities as a guest speaker from time to time. Also, precious Şarık Tara, who was giving economic support to our studies, was a member of Eurasian Economic Summits. The loss of Şarık Tara, who attended the 12nd Eurasian Economic Summit on November 6, 2009 as a speaker, is the loss of Turkish intellectual business world. We share this unimaginable pain of his family and we would like to express our sincere condolences to the Turkish business community as the Marmara Group Foundation.

Cafer Okray Participated in the European Institute for Eurasian Dialogue Forum

On Saturday, June 23, 2018, the European Institute for Eurasian Dialogue Forum, which was attended by several civil society leaders from Turkey, Italy, Australia, Greece and Belgium, was held at the Italian School Ship Amerigo Vespucci located in Navy Base of La Spezia, Italy. They have discussed the ways of how the most developed countries promote their industrial system on the playground of the global competitiveness, and they also emphasized the significance of the Eurasian Dialogue. Cafer Okray represented the Turkish civil society in the Forum on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation.

Dilek Terimer will get her prize at a ceremony will be held at Istanbul WOW Hotel on July 1, 2018. We congratulate on her success on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation. Dilek Terimer is the manager of the Halley Duvar Kağıtları A.Ş., which is one of the most successful companies in our country. The company is known not only in our country but also abroad.

The Ictimai Television of Azerbaijan did an interview with Dr. Akkan Suver, who has identity of civil society, regarding to election will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018. At this interview, Dr. Suver emphasized that elections are a part of democracy, and Turkey had the single-party system between 1923-1946 and transition to the multi-party system took place in 1946. He said that the presidential system would enter into life after this election.

It Has Been Three Years from Passing of Süleyman Demirel

We have lost Süleyman Demirel, was the 9th President of Turkish Republic, on June 17, 2015. Süleyman Demirel, died at the age of 91, ended his over more than 40 years of political life as President of Turkish Republic with his saying "I went away six times, I came back seven times”. Süleyman Demirel, was awarded with the Honorary Medal in 2007 and he was owner of the Marmara Group Foundation Social Responsibility Awards 2016, was the one of most distinguished participants of the Eurasian Economic Summits. He also was the protector of the Marmara Group Foundation during his presidency. We, as the Marmara Group Foundation, will always think of his precious memories. We commemorate him with great respect and mercy.

TANAP WAS HELD

The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), such a new Silk Road project that carries the Azerbaijani gas to Europe through Turkey was held. First gas flow started on TANAP line. In addition to President of Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mustafa Akıncı, President of Azerbaijan, İlham Aliyev, President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić and President of Ukraine, Petro Poroşenko attended the ceremony. The opening speech was held by Rövnag Abdullayev. The ceremony was realized at the Compressor and Metering Stations in Eskişehir. The TANAP project, directly and indirectly, will provide employment of ten thousand people in total.
