State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan held a meeting and several Azerbaijani people who live in Istanbul attended the meeting. They have exchanged their ideas over the plans and perspectives. Headed by Deputy Minister of Diaspora H.E. 15th Anniversary of the Passing of Haydar Aliyev

Today is the 15th anniversary of National Leader of Azerbaijan Haydar Aliyev's death. Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul Mesim Hajıyev held a commemoration ceremony at the monument of Haydar Aliyev in the Haydar Aliyev Park in Sarıyer district. They laid flowers on the monuments of National Leaders Haydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Dr. Akkan Suver and Cafer Okray attended the ceremony from the Marmara Group Foundation.

Dr. Akkan Suver to talk over the Status of Permanent Neutrality and Great Silk Road

Dr. Akkan Suver made a speech at the International Conference "Heritage of the Great Silk Road and Present International Relations" dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality held in Ashgabat on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation. A mass group of participants showed great deal of attention to the conference held by the opening speech of President Gurbanguli Muhammed. In his speech, Dr. Akkan Suver said Turkmenistan's statue of permanent neutrality recognized by the United Nations is a great achievement and he talked about this topic along with the Silk Road Economic Belt that he recognize as the philosophy of the century.

Coordination Group of Check and Balance Network (DDA), its Co-Chairwoman is the Chairwoman of the EU and Human Rights Platform of the Marmara Group Foundation Mrs. Müjgan Suver, held a meeting on December 8-9, 2018 in Ankara. Check and Balance Network and Democratic Participation Association talked about the activities which will bring about the structural changes and objectives which will be jointly held in the near future. The main topic is the meeting was the fixing the date of board meeting.

Christmas Concert 2018

The Consul General of Poland in Istanbul Hon. Joanna Pilecka hosted a Christmas Concert at the Saint Antoine Church. Participants had a great time while listening Anna Szafraniec and Arkadiusz Szafraniec playing the glass harp in duet and with other musicians as well. They played the compositions of Chopin, Debussy, Bach, Çaykovski, Shimanovski by moving their hands on the glass materials. In addition to Deputy Governor of Istanbul İhsan Tekin, foreign mission chiefs and Dr. Akkan Suver, several Polish people took part at the event.

Women in Turkey to celebrate their suffrage on 5 December Women's Rights Day

Women in Turkey is celebrating the right to vote (women's suffrage) that they have achieved thanks to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 84 years ago. Mrs. Müjgan Suver, Chairwoman of the EU and Human Rights Platform of the Marmara Group Foundation, said " 'In order to create a more equal world, women have to make a claim to be the owners of their rights". Mrs. Müjgan Suver made a statement as follows: Although women in Turkey have achieved the right of vote before Europe, unfortunately equal representation is still not at the desired level in the field of Turkish political life. We was 2nd in terms of female representation in the parliamentary in 1935, but we are 118th with a 17 percentage rate on the world. In order to build a modern and democratic society, women should be empowered and they should be provided equal opportunities in the fields of education, employment, health, politics, law. In addition, when women make a claim to be the owners of their rights, it will be a democratic step for whole society. As the Marmara Group Foundation we congratulate all women who look after their own rights on the occasion of the 5 December Women's Rights Day.

Alexander Bogdanovic to visit the Marmara Foundation
