Monument for Azerbaijani intellectuals

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Consulate General erected a monument on behalf of senior government officials who deliberately chose Turkey as second homeland and died in Istanbul (1918-1920) at Feriköy Cemetery. Besides Deputy Governor of Istanbul İsmail Gültekin and Dr. Akkan Suver, a crowded community attened the ceremony organized by Consul General Mesim Hajiyev.

Bahcesehir University's Global Leadership Forum started to work with the Gala Dinner held on the evening of May 11, 2018. The opening speech of the evening, which Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov attended as guest of honor, was held by the Head of Government Leadership School and Director of BAU Institute of Social Sciences, Assoc. Dr. Burak Küntay. Assoc. Dr. Burak Küntay highlighted the high values reached by the Global Leadership Forum within the last twenty years. The topic of this year's event is titled with the "International Alliance's Road Seperation".

EU Day Celebrated

On the occasion of the "Europe Day" on May 9th, the Turkish delegation of the European Union hosted a reception at the Venetian Palace in Istanbul. Dr. Akkan Suver also joined the event. Expressing that the "purpose of this idea is not only to prevent the occurrence of a war in Europe'', Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey, said "When we look at what is happening in Europe today, we better understand that a project like the EU is indispensable. The EU is a living project and it faces different problems every year. We are committed to resume this project. We want to continue this business alliance with all of our partners in the world. The EU is whatever we do together." Italy's Ambassador to Ankara Luigi Mattiolo emphasized his great honor for hosting the the Europe Day in the Venetian Palace. He said that "the EU is an example of the best integration and solidarity seen on the global scale. It is also very important that this union happens after many tragedies that have been experienced. So we want this order to continue and further develop for both ourselves and future generations." At the end of the event, the Sistema Europe Orchestra and the Music for Peace Foundation, composed of young people from various European countries, gave a concert.

Haydar Aliyevs 85th Birthday was celebrated

A ceremony was held at the Haydar Aliyev Monument in Sarıyer, Istanbul, by Consul General of Azerbaijan Mesim Hajiyev on the occasion of the 85th Birthday of the late Azerbaijani President Haydar Aliyev. Marmara Group Foundation President Dr. Akkan Suver and Vice President Şamil Ayrım were also present at the birthday ceremony attended by Azerbaijani citizens in Istanbul. After the ceremony, the delegation of the Marmara Group Foundation also laid flowers together with the Consul General on Atatürk's Monument.

The Summit started with the opening speech of TOSYÖV President Nezih Kuleyin, continued with speeches of Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Hasan Ali Çelik, Deputy General Manager of DenizBank SME Banking Group Murat Kulaksız, Vice President of KOSGEB Salih Tuna Şahin and Deputy President of TIM Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu.
