The Republic of India Turns 75

On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Republic of India, a reception was hosted at the Istanbul Hilton Hotel by the Ambassador of India to Ankara, Virander Paul, and his wife, Racheline Shadap, along with the Consul General of India in Istanbul, Mijito Vinito, and his wife, Shin Jung Lee. The reception, attended by Indian citizens, was also attended by Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, and Member of the Executive Board Mahmut Saklı, as well as foreign mission chiefs and local dignitaries in Istanbul.

Atatürk Statue in Kazakhstan

In Almaty, Kazakhstan, at Atatürk Park located on El-Farabi Boulevard, an Atatürk Statue erected on a granite pedestal was unveiled during a ceremony. The 3-meter-high Atatürk Statue was crafted by Kazakh sculptors Aidos Burkitbayer and Timur Burkitbayer. The opening ceremony of the Atatürk Statue, inaugurated by Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture Aida Baleyeva, was attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Astana Mustafa Kapucu, Secretary-General of TÜRKSOY Sultan Raev, and Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosoyer. In honor of the unveiling of the Atatürk Statue, Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, sent a letter of thanks to Yerkebulan Sapiyev, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Ankara, and Nuriddin Amankul, Kazakhstan's Consul General in Istanbul. Dr. Akkan Suver's letter read as follows: “As a shining example of the graciousness of the Kazakh State and People, the Atatürk Statue you have erected has filled us with pride and joy. Through your esteemed personage, we, as the Marmara Group Foundation, extend our gratitude to the Government of Kazakhstan and our Kazakh brothers and sisters. Please accept our deepest respects.”

We condemn the attack on Santa Maria Church

Dr. Akkan Suver, President of the Marmara Group Foundation, condemned the attack on the Santa Maria Italian Church in Istanbul. Dr. Akkan Suver's statement is as follows: "We strongly condemn the attack on the Santa Maria Italian Church in Istanbul during the mass, with our civil society identity. This act of evil is not only an attack, a murder, against the Christian community but also an attack against humanity. We extend our condolences to the family of the deceased Latin Catholic citizen. We believe that the perpetrators of this inhumane act will be apprehended and brought to justice as soon as possible."

Consul General of People's Republic of China Gives Conference on

Hon.Wei Xiaodong, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul, delivered a conference on Chinese diplomacy and the topic of common security. The conference, organized by the Marmara Group Foundation, was attended with great interest. During the conference, Sezgin Bilgiç, the Secretary General of the Marmara Group Foundation, Cafer Okray, the Vice President of the Marmara Group Foundation, Oğuzhan Ceylan, a member of the Executive Council of the Marmara Group Foundation, and Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu, the (Retired) Ambassador and Doyen of the Marmara Group Foundation, spoke separately, sharing their views on universal stability and common security. The meeting concluded with a mutual exchange of gifts.

Marmara Group Foundation Visits Minister of Public Works and Services in Uzbekistan

Led by the Secretary General of the Marmara Group Foundation, Sezgin Bilgiç, the delegation consisting of Members of the Board of Trustees Hasan Yediyıldız and Göksel Bilgiç visited the office of H.E. Shirzod Hidoyatov, the Minister of Public Works and Services in Uzbekistan. Led by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ankara, Dr. Reşat Memmedov, and the President of TADIV and Member of the Presidential Security and Foreign Policy Board, Prof. Dr. Aygün Attar, the martyrs of January 20 were commemorated at the TADIV Center's Shusha Hall in Ankara. The meeting, which began with the opening speech of TADIV President and Member of the Presidential Security and Foreign Policy Board, Prof. Dr. Aygün Attar, saw separate remarks on the events of January 20 by Dr. Akkan Suver, the President of the Marmara Group Foundation, Istanbul MP Şamil Ayrım, and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ankara, Dr. Reşad Memmedov. University rectors, faculty members, Azerbaijani military students, and Mahmut Saklı, a member of the Executive Council of the Marmara Group Foundation, who were present in Ankara, also attended the meeting.
