The Alliance of Civilizations meeting is held in Istanbul with the participation of Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations. The International Conference on “Role of Youth in Preventing & Countering Violent Extremism” was held in Istanbul Hilton Hotel. Tuğrul Türkeş, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey have also participated the conference. Ambassador Ramil Hasnaov, Secretary General of the Turkic Council and Chief Advisor of the Prime Minister, Prof. Dr. Bekir Karlığa have also addressed the audience at the conference. Ms.Müjgan Suver represented the Honorary Consulate of Montenegro. The annual program was discussed during the meeting. Qian Bo in his office and wished him success. During the visit, Dr. Akkan Suver has given brief information about the upcoming 20th Eurasian Economic Summit, which will be held on 4-6 April, 2017 in Istanbul. Consul General Hon. Qian Bo stated that Dr. Suver is the very first Turkish representative to visit him on his new appointment.

October 11th International Day of the Girl Child

On December 19, 2011, United Nations General Assembly resolved to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child in the frame of the Sustainable Development Goals. The International Day of the Girl Child focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights through education. Effective supporting of young girls will help the prevention of discrimination and violence they face in their daily life and hence contribute to a stronger and equitable society. In 2016, an action plan primarily for equal access to education was adopted under “ The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals – The empowerment of girls” resolution. The aim is to support girls to be independent and equal members in their family and in their society. As the EU and Human Rights Platform of the Marmara Group Foundation we wish all our children, girls and boys to have an inclusive, equitable, innovative quality education based on scientific contemporary principles and standards. We hope and expect a determined governmental policy to for the implementation of these standards, in this new school year. Somewhere a girl child is waiting for your help.

H.E. Michal Kovac, Slovakia's first president has passed away

20th Eurasian Economic Summit has been completed with the participation of 44 countries

20th Eurasian Economic Summit was finalized with the valued participation of 300 statesmen, academicians, religious functionaries and businessmen from 44 countries. The Guest of Honor of this year’s Summit, of which Azerbaijan was again chosen as the star country, was Edward De Bono, a world-renowned visionary writer.
