Marmara Group Foundation in Tashkent

On the occasion of the Constitutional Referendum to be held on April 30, Marmara Group Foundation Chairman Dr Akkan Suver and Vice Chairman Sezgin Bilgiç went to Tashkent. Dr. Akkan Suver and Sezgin Bilgiç, who will monitor the Constitutional Referendum as Observers on behalf of civil society, visited Tashkent Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Olgan Bekar in his office. After the visit, Dr Akkan Suver and Sezgin Bilgiç visited the Emir Timur Museum.

Constantine Grigorie was appointed President of RACVIAC

Romanian Ambassador to Zagreb, Constantin Grigorie, who is a member of the Marmara Group Foundation Medal of Honor and a regular at the Eurasian Economic Summit, has been appointed as the President of the Security Cooperation Center (RACVIAC). The task of Constantin Grigorie, who will serve between May 1, 2023 and May 1, 2026; (RACVIAC) is recognized as an important mission in the field of strengthening dialogue and regional cooperation. RACVIAC, chaired by Constantin Grigorie, is a regional intergovernmental organization facilitating security dialogue in Southeast Europe, in cooperation with countries in the region and their international partners. Focusing on political-military issues, especially emphasizing Euro-Atlantic integration, RAVIAC operates in many areas and has 9 members with the right to take decisions: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Turkey.

Azerbaijan-Turkey Joint Centennial Meeting

A conference organized by the Azerbaijan 100th Year Platform was held at the Haydar Aliyev Cultural Center in Baku to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and the 100th birthday of Haydar Aliyev. The ceremony, which was also organized by the Azerbaijan 100th Year Platform, began with a presentation by the President of the 100th Year Platform, Elmin Sadıkov, and an opening speech by the Sheikh ul-Islam of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, Allahshukur Pashazade, at the Haydar Aliyev Cultural Center in Baku. After the speech of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Baku, Cahit Bağcı, the President of the Marmara Group Foundation, Dr. Akkan Suver, spoke. Later on, the Head of the National Academy of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Isa Habibbeyli, and Orhan Mammadov from the Ministry of Economy presented their papers. In the subsequent panel discussion, Azerbaijani MPs Prof. Dr. Musa Kasimli, Prof. Dr. Nizami Jafarov, Prof. Dr. Yakup Mammadov, and Prof. Dr. Anar Iskenderov, along with Dr. Akkan Suver, shared their memories and thoughts on Haydar Aliyev.

Dr. Akkan Suver visited Hazar University

Dr. Akkan Suver, the President of the Marmara Group Foundation, who was in Baku for meetings, visited Hazar University. He was received by the Rector of Hazar University, Prof. Dr. Irade Khalilova, and the Secretary-General, Prof. Dr. Alovsat Amirbeyli, where they discussed potential joint activities. During the visit, they also discussed a workshop topic related to the 100th anniversary of our Republic and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev and agreed to collaborate on this topic. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Khalid Niyazov was also present.

On the occasion of the Easter holiday celebrated by the Orthodox world, Yusuf Çetin, the Acting Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church, hosted an official reception at the Patriarchate. The reception was attended by the deputy governor of Istanbul, Ozlem Bozkurt, as well as civil authorities, business people, academics, and spiritual leaders.
