Winpace at Second Annual Meeting

The Winpeace Group which has also members of the Marmara Group Foundation held its second annual meeting in Istanbul. In addition to EU and Human Rights Platform President Müjgan Suver, Gülriz Yıldırım, Nur Mardin, Şule Bucak, Jennifer Serter, Nilgün Lermioğlu, Zeynep Oral and Feriha Erfan attended the meeting. The participants talked about the preparations for the youth camp project planned for this summer season in Cyprus.

Dr. Akkan Suver in Beijing

Dr. Akkan Suver participated in an official tour as the guest of the People's Republic of China Public Diplomacy Association, and was accepted by the Beijing Ambassador of Turkish Republic Abdülkadir Emin Önen. Dr. Akkan Suver and his colleagues visited the Beijing Mosque first. On the visit, Dr. Akkan Suver presented the Holy Quran in Turkish to the Beijing Mosque. The imam of the mosque also presented a handmade Word-i Tawhid written in Chinese Alphabet to Dr. Suver. The Chinese Medicine Institute gave a briefing to the delegation that visited the China International Radio, the National Museum and the Forbidden City. Information on internet journalism was also presented to the delegation consisting of Murat Taylan, Hasan Kılınç, Dr. Kadir Temiz, Dr. Altay Atlı, Arif Kemal Tayfur, Özcan Yüksek and Gülşah Maraşlı, who visited the Great Wall of China and participated in operas and concerts.

Azerbaycan is 100 years old

Dr. Edward de Bono celebrates his 85th anniversary

Famous philosopher and thinker Edward de Bono's 85th birthday ceremony took place in Malta under the patronage of Maltese President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. We lost Prof. Bernard Lewis

Bernard Lewis who is one of the most important names in the Middle East history, lost his life at 102. Bernard Lewis was a guest of honor at a meeting organized by the Marmara Group Foundation on 4 February 2003. At Bush administration, Bernard Lewis known as father of ideas in Middle East Policy, was a person who specializes in matters such as Islamic History, Islam and Western Relations. He was also known for his rejection of the Armenian allegations and his thesis on this subject. Marmara Group Foundation sees the loss of Bernard Lewis as a major loss in the history of World thought. With the death of Bernard Lewis, mankind has lost a personality that can not be filled easily. We are bowing in front of the memory of the Saint.

Dr. Akkan Suver in Malta

On the occasion of world-famous thinker Dr. Edward de Bono's 85th birthday ceremony, Dr. Akkan Suver also visited Turkish Ambassador Başak Türkoğlu. After his visit at the embassy, Dr. Suver also visited the Turkish Military Cemetery dating from the Ottoman period.

Editor in chief Emil Nasirli visited Dr. Suver at the Foundation Headquarters in Istanbul to hand over the document that is dated 18 April 2018. Şamil Ayrım also attended the presentation ceremony.

Azerbaijan Park opened in Maltepe

With the cooperation of the Maltepe Municipality and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the opening of the "100th Year of Azerbaijan Park" was realised near Büyükbakkalköy. The Park was opened on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Azerbaijan's national leader Haydar Aliyev. Mayor of the Maltepe Ali Kılıç, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Hazar Ibrahim, Azerbaijan parliament members Şamil Ayrım and Dr. Akkan Suver from the Marmara Group Foundation participated in the event.

Syriac Foundation President Zeki Basatemir was awarded the Vatican Knighthood Order

The President of Istanbul Syriac Foundation, Zeki Basademir, was awarded the Vatican Knighthood and Outstanding Service Engagement on behalf of the Vatican and Pope Francis. At the medal ceremony, World Syriac Catholic Patriarch Mar Ignatios Yousef III. was also present. The ceremony was held at the Syrian Catholic Church; besides various diplomatic mission chiefs and religious leaders from Istanbul and Syriac citizens, Dr. Akkan Suver also took part.
