The Consul General of Japan Hon. Hisao Nishimaki held a reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Akihito. Dr. Akkan Suver and Mrs. Müjgan Suver attended the reception on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation. In his speech, Consul General Hon. Hisao Nishimaki talked about the joint projects which have been launched by two states and the historical and commercial relations in Turkish.

Women in Turkey to celebrate their suffrage on 5 December Women's Rights Day

Women in Turkey is celebrating the right to vote (women's suffrage) that they have achieved thanks to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 84 years ago. Mrs. Müjgan Suver, Chairwoman of the EU and Human Rights Platform of the Marmara Group Foundation, said " 'In order to create a more equal world, women have to make a claim to be the owners of their rights". Mrs. Müjgan Suver made a statement as follows: Although women in Turkey have achieved the right of vote before Europe, unfortunately equal representation is still not at the desired level in the field of Turkish political life. We was 2nd in terms of female representation in the parliamentary in 1935, but we are 118th with a 17 percentage rate on the world. In order to build a modern and democratic society, women should be empowered and they should be provided equal opportunities in the fields of education, employment, health, politics, law. In addition, when women make a claim to be the owners of their rights, it will be a democratic step for whole society. As the Marmara Group Foundation we congratulate all women who look after their own rights on the occasion of the 5 December Women's Rights Day.

Alexander Bogdanovic to visit the Marmara Foundation

H.E. Alexander Bogdanovic who is the Minister of Culture of Montenegro (Karadağ) visited the Marmara Group Foundation. They have agreed on ratifying a Memorandum of Understanding between the Marmara Foundation and E.I.E.A.D.
