We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Halil Şıvgın, who was among the founders of the Marmara Group Foundation and served as its president between 1985 and 1987.

On the occasion of Halil Şıvgın’s passing, Dr. Akkan Suver made the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Halil Şıvgın, with whom we stood together during the founding of the Marmara Group Foundation and who served as our very first president.

Halil Şıvgın rendered great service in the formation of the Marmara Group Foundation. We will never forget him and will always remember and cherish him with love.

We share the rightful grief of his esteemed wife, Prof. Dr. Hale Şıvgın, and their beloved children, and wish them patience. May God’s mercy never be absent from him."
