At Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, during the celebrations of Medical Day in Turkey (14 March), a meaningful award was presented to Prof. Dr. Turhan Ece, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Marmara Group Foundation.

Within the scope of this year’s 14 March events organized by the faculty—whose roots date back to the Tıphane-i Âmire founded in 1827 and regarded as the beginning of modern medical education in Türkiye—the medical specialization thesis prepared by Dr. Gökhan Altan under the scientific guidance and recommendations of Prof. Dr. Turhan Ece was selected as the Best Thesis of the Year in the field of Internal Sciences, and was awarded first prize.

The award ceremony took place at the Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Amphitheatre of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and the prize was presented as part of the official Medical Day celebrations.

The thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. Turhan Ece attracted attention as another strong example of the faculty’s distinguished academic tradition and the high-quality scientific contributions of young researchers.
