INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE WORLD AGAINST VIOLENCE AND EXT

The I. International “World Against Violence and Extremism” (WAVE) conference which is hold by The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs realized, 9 to 10 December 2014, with senior participants from 40 countries in Tehran.

The conference came in the aftermath of a last year proposal by Iranian President H.E. Hassan Rouhani during his address to the UN General Assembly meeting in New York on September 25, 2013, which received the approval of the UNGA after being endorsed by an overwhelming majority of the member states on December 18, 2013. The meeting begin with Dr. Rouhani’s opening speech. He underlined the necessity for cooperation among the regional governments to uproot violence and extremism and said, "The roots of violence can be dried up in the region through cooperation among governments."

“World without violence could only be achieved by cooperation” said Dr. Rouhani and added the extremists will be marginalized by the governments common policies and coordination.

On behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation Hazar Vural attended the meeting and  present the importance of the dialogue.

Speech of Dr. Akkan Suver is exactly below:

The future, can not be built on repressed anger and hatred of the past. It is not useful to judge the mistakes of the past with today’s democracy understanding and conjuncture. Additionally to blame the others will just work to create an empty excuses. This effort is just to waste our energy and time in the ashes of the past.

The benefits of the past to our future is, it teach us not to repeat yesterday's mistakes. Leave the past beyond, with its mistakes, sins and pains.

The desire to punish the history, is the scream of hatred and anger inside us. We have to know that, instead of destroying the accumulated hatred and animosity inside us will only serve to increase new seeds in the hearts of others.

To feel hatred or to take revenges within the social and religious values, the only way to destroy this feelings, getting to know the other side, to listen and go through to try to understand. This is the difficult one. This approach will protect you from repeating the mistakes of the past in another format, this is tolerance.

The only way for this, is the dialogue with who are not like you and not thinking like you.

This is valid for personal relationships, social groupings and even international relations, and conflicts.

If Palestine and Israel, could understand each other’s fears, if they could talk instead of fighting and could see that the peace is coming with consensus, then they could understand their interest is in peace, not in war.

If Middle East dictators, could understand the change in the world order, the people's screams for rights and freedoms, if they can show respect for human rights, if they could talk, if they could listen for understand it would be possible to ensure the transition to democracy instead of today’s chaos.

We can’t look forward just with criticizing the mistakes of past. Our task, with appreciating the past, to make further plans and programs.

It is not a good decision to ignore the globalization. Peace in our geography will come with mutual understanding and peaceful coexistance among the religions, languages and ethnic groups.

The way is the dialogue. The world where people can talk or understand each other, could only be created with dialogue.

The discrimination which is occuring from intolerance, racism, discrimination and the hatred can remove and eliminate with dialogue.

Once again, we can build strong peace with our shared values.

The basis of this peace, the main rights should be located which is shaped by the humans honour.

A joint force based on mutual trust and dialogue which we will put forth with mutual effort, we can create a permanent climate.

To create such a climate, the permanence of the dialogue and its sustainability is proportional to the tolerance and education.

Therefore, education is the guarantee of respect for universal rights, freedoms and dialogue.

Nowadays, conflicts are born because of our prejudice, not to recognize each other, self seeking and our hurry to defend ourself, instead of listening to each other.

Absence of the dialogue is so clear. War, hatred, intolerance, hunger, poverty rules in that atmosphere.

Happenings in Middle East, Africa, Asia and Ukraine is because lack of dialogue.

To put an end to conflict and war paradigma’s, everyone has to respect the opinion of each other, the conversation with each other and know how to live each other.

The nations which their citizens do not tolerate each other, because of they don’t have tolerance culture measures, spontaneously governments also become intolerant to the settlement.

Ideas, beliefs and press freedom can’t be established.

More broadly we can say that; without tolerance, liberty and rule of law can’t be established.

The only way to reach this goal is dialogue. It should not be forgotten; negotiations will not exist without dialogue.

The source of the negotiation is dialogue, to find a solution or a mutual understanding is also negotiations.

To live together, to put an end to longing for peace, we need dialogue, more dialogue.
