The closing meeting of the “Disaster-Resilient Cities – Avcılar Project,” implemented jointly by the Marmara Group Foundation EU and Human Rights Platform and Avcılar Municipality, was held at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Avcılar.

At the Closing Meeting, attended by Avcılar Deputy Mayor Yüksel Can, President of the Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver, and the project participants, Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Narlı and Prof. Dr. Kadir Eriş each delivered separate presentations.

Following the opening speeches by Dr. Akkan Suver and Avcılar Deputy Mayor Yüksel Can, presentations were delivered respectively by Evren Kılcı, Deputy Mayor of Avcılar; Ayşe Deniz Arıcan, EU Representative; Osman Cihan Selvi, UNDP Representative; Burak Çatlıoğlu, President of the Istanbul Geological Society; Çağla Gürdal, Researcher; Müjde Çetin from Global Spring; Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Vice Chair of the Marmara Group Foundation EU and Human Rights Platform; Kenan Mert Akbulut, Project Staff Member; and Oğuz Şen from Avcılar Municipality.

Following the approximately three-hour meeting, participants were presented with earthquake emergency kits prepared by the Marmara Group Foundation.
The Project Closing Meeting concluded with a joint luncheon at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel.
