Visit to the Berlin State Parliament

Within the scope of the Turkish Youth and Women for Democracy Project we are implementing, a team of ten representatives from the project partner institutions paid a visit to Berlin.

During the visit, a meeting was held with Dr. Turgut Altuğ, the Member of Parliament of the Berlin State Parliament. Within the scope of the meeting, important information was given about the participation of citizens of Turkish origin in democratic processes. Dr. Altuğ, starting from his biography, emphasized the importance of women's participation in politics and their personal biographies contributed to the development of society in Berlin. He drew attention to the number of female / male deputies in the Parliament.

After the meeting, a trip was held in the historic parliament building.
Project partner, Turkish Women's Union representatives Yasemin Kültür, Ayşen Karakulak and Zeynep Şanal; Chairwoman of EU and Human Rights Platform of Marmara Group Foundation Müjgan Suver, Board Member Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Leyla Tavşanoğlu and project assistants Ömer Yıldırım and Ebrar Eda Demir were present. Also, Marmara University Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Mesut Eren and Beykent University Faculty Member Akile Gürsoy also attended the meeting.
