Visit to Ali Polat

President of Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver and Marmara Group Foundation Vice President Engin Köklüçınar paid a courtesy visit to one of our most important thinkers alive, Ali Polat. During the visit, which included a musical feast and a meal, Ali Polat talked about Nizami Ganjavi's life, philosophy, works and his Turkish identity.

During his exceptional speech, Ali Polat stated that there are 5 Sages (Genius) in terms of thought, philosophy, culture, literature and art in the Iranian geography who are internationally acknowledged. Two of them are of Turkish origin (Nizami-i Ganjavi, Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi), three of them are of Persian origin (Saadi, Omer Khayyam, Ferdowsi). He explained that Nizami-i Ganjavi was the first among equals because his title was described as "hekim-i allame" (having deep knowledge in various fields).

Ali Polat also mentioned in his speech that a Museum was opened in the name of Nizami-i Ganjavi five years ago in Tabriz and that scholars were researching Nizami-i Ganjavi and writing about him.
