Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan

Presidential elections in Uzbekistan took place with the participation of 80% of the population. 

After the elections, which was completed in a successful environment despite the pandemic thanks to the strict health measures taken, Dr. Akkan Suver, who participated in the elections as an Observer in behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation and in a civil society role, and Istanbul Deputy and Marmara Group Foundation Eurasian Economic Summits Coordinator Şamil Ayrım stated that it was important that the voting process was transparent, open and in accordance with the democratic principles with a high and enthusiastic participation despite the stress of the pandemic in their statements to Uzbekistan's press, Anadolu Agency and TRT.

Deputy Şamil Ayrım, Osman Menteş and Dr. Akkan Suver who were accepted by the Head of Central Election Committee Nizamkhodjayev Zayniddin Makhamatovich also received a briefing on the elections. 

Turkish Ambassador Olgan Bekar hosted a dinner in the honor of Deputy Şamil Ayrım, Osman Menteş, the President of the Supreme Election Council Muharrem Akkaya and Dr. Akkan Suver.

Around 1500 Observers and international press members who witnessed and observed the elections in Tashkent described the elections as a historical event in the conditions of the current pandemic.
