Nativity and Christmas were celebrated in the Syriac Catholic Church. At the ceremony organized by Syriac Monsignor Orhan Çanlı; Mayors, Religious Leaders with Assyrian community leaders were present. Dr. Akkan Suver, Sezgin Bilgiç and Serhat Tabanca also congratulated the Assyrian Monsignor Orhan Çanlı on behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation and the Holidays of the Orthodox Assyrians.

Dr. Akkan Suver celebrated Christians' Christmas Day.  Dr. Akkan Suver: "I congratulate the Christmas Day that our Christian citizens have realized. I wish that Christmas Feast will be a door opening to love, peace, tranquility and respect, and I congratulate the new year of our Christian citizens on this occasion."
