At The Istanbul Dedeman Hotel, being in the first place Governer of Istanbul Hüseyin Avni Mutlu and Patriarch Bartholomeos, two hundred guests were ready. Dr. Akkan Suver opened the ceremony with his speach and said that they got together, despite it was little bit late to express their gratitude on behalf of members of their NGO, to The Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Topbaş for bringing the chairmanship of United Cities and Local Governments to Istanbul.

 

While The Governer of Istanbul Hüseyin Avni Mutlu also emphasized Dr. Topbaş’s achievement, he thanked The Marmara Group Foundation for its gratitude and loyalty.

 

After the talks, The Council of Foundation leading by Dr. Akkan Suver with Governer Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, Patriarch Bartholomeos decoreted Dr. Topbaş the medal.

 

After the ceremony Dr. Topbaş had a presentation about his performance for last seven years within two hours. The meeting consisted of rectors, diplomatic missions in Istanbul, businessmen and chairmen of chambers of industry and trade also, ended with evaluation of Dr. Akkan Suver that express his gratitude towards Dr. Topbaş for his performance as a Mayor.
