The Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul, Roman Nedilsky, and his wife Nedilska hosted a reception in honor of Ukraine's Independence Day. The reception was attended by the local authorities and diplomatic mission chiefs in Istanbul. A special highlight of the event was a unique concert performance by Ruslana Lyzhychko, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004.
