Especially on April 30, 2023, a nationwide referendum will be held in Uzbekistan for the new Constitution law. The updated Basic Law will be designed as a referendum to further reform society and the state's strategic course with a positive impact on the country's foreign policy.

In this regard, we believe that the referendum will be the most important political event in the lives of Uzbekistan citizens this year. This was primarily achieved with the active participation of the public in the process of preparing the new Constitution draft.

Initially, the Uzbekistan Parliament planned to change 30% of the Constitution, but with over 220,000 proposals received, these changes reached 65%. It is no coincidence that Uzbek experts and public circles call the updated Constitution "The People's Constitution.

In fact, the new draft constitution clearly reflects the significant changes that have taken place in Uzbekistan since the beginning of the extensive reforms announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the end of 2016. The country's political and economic opening for foreign experts came as a surprise. Most observers expected the continuation of the old order, with a few symbolic innovations.

However, since President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took office in 2016, Uzbekistan has undoubtedly been going through a radical transformation process.
