The Marmara Group Foundation and İHKİB introduced the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit at a joint press conference. İHKİB Vice President Mehmet Kaya, Istanbul Fashion Academy Director Cemal Bayazıt and Dr. Akkan Suver provided information about the programme.
“At the Summit, we will seek a strong response to the need for common sense and dialogue.”
Dr. Akkan Suver said that the Eurasian Economic Summit would make an important contribution to the search for common sense and dialogue amid deepening global crises. He explained that the programme would address peace, democracy, economic cooperation and social inclusion.
For twenty-nine years, the Summit has brought together politicians, academics, businesspeople, faith leaders and civil society representatives from different countries. This year's programme aims to understand changing global balances of power and contribute to a fairer, more peaceful and sustainable future.
Sessions will examine wars and regional conflicts, the role of women in peace and diplomacy, energy geopolitics, global economic vulnerabilities, security architecture, the future of democratic institutions and the effects of digital transformation.
The rapid depletion of water and green resources will also be among the principal themes. Participants will discuss practical proposals and infrastructure solutions for global threats with environmental, economic, social and humanitarian dimensions.
Cafer Okray, Lale Aytanç Nalbant, Elif Arıkan Can, Mahmut Saklı, Prof. Dr. Özgür Çengel and Sevil Kulak represented the Marmara Group Foundation at the press conference.
