Entrepreneurial Women in Kirklareli Will Produce Organic Honey

The Marmara Group Foundation implemented the project "Improving the Socio-Economic Status of Young Women through Beekeeping and Organic Honey Production in Rural Areas," which ran from December 2007 to November 2008, targeting 40 entrepreneurial women across Demirköy and İğneada in Kirklareli. The project aimed to enable women's participation in labor markets and to create a model for women's employment.

Within the scope of the project, the Marmara Group Foundation;

Provided training for beekeeping technicians.

Organized theoretical training sessions on general beekeeping and organic honey production.

Delivered theoretical training on entrepreneurship, general accounting, basic food and honey production technology, marketing, and fundamental business principles.

Continued education on women's human rights.

Facilitated the establishment of core beekeeping enterprises.

Completed practical beekeeping and organic honey production training at 40 core enterprises established in various locations.

Ensured the acquisition of organic honey production certification for the enterprises.

Provided credit and grant consultancy to help expand the enterprises.

Organized a national seminar on women's employment.

At the end of the project, published a book titled "Beekeeping and Organic Honey Production Handbook, Establishing Enterprises – Marketing," which was distributed free of charge primarily to course participants as well as relevant institutions, organizations, and individuals.
