Turkmenistan has become one of the prosperous states of today's world. Dr. Akkan Suver witnessed examples of this during his recent visit and conveyed them to the public through his writings. Ashgabat displays the harmony of the future and modernity and is becoming one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. Today, Turkmenistan plays an important role in the peace, stability, and prosperity of Central Asia with its geostrategic position and rich energy resources.
On the other hand, Turkmenistan, which has been recognized for years with its neutrality policy, has reaped the results of its productive efforts in this field and ensured that December 12 is celebrated worldwide as "International Neutrality Day."
This decision, taken by the United Nations on February 12, 2017, is essentially the philosophy put forward by Turkmenistan transcending national borders and reaching the international arena. This is a sign of confidence in the correctness of the pursued policy.
Over time, Turkmenistan has persistently and carefully maintained its neutrality. In 2018, it again brought the justification of its neutrality to the United Nations and this time ensured that neutrality became an international day. The foremost gains provided to Turkmenistan by the "Permanent Neutrality" status are "security" and "stability." Therefore, it does not seriously need armament. It has directed its resources toward the country's development. A significant amount of foreign investment has been attracted to the country.
Neutrality has provided an important psychological contribution in instilling self-confidence in the country and society.
Additionally, it has granted Turkmenistan a certain prestige in the region.
In summary, Turkmenistan has become the safest and most stable country among the Central Asian republics by following a successful neutrality policy in both global and regional relations from past to present.
On the other hand, the fact that the "permanent neutrality" status offers Turkmenistan more political options in both global and regional foreign relations has provided a very effective political power to its foreign policy.
