Malta

As a civil society identity, the Marmara Group Foundation is doing what is necessary to mutually develop the relations between Turkey and Malta. We continue our work with the responsibility of having a very good cooperation environment. We are aware that Malta's strategic potential is very high. Because by its location, Malta is in the heart of Europe. A similar potential also exists in Turkey. Turkey is an important country for the Eurasian and Mediterranean regions. Turkey, which forms a center between Asia, Europe, and Africa within the Eurasian geography, and Malta, located in the heart of Europe, are two countries with geopolitical importance in the Mediterranean.

As the Marmara Group Foundation, we know that Maltese companies are pursuing new ventures internationally. As Turkey, we want to be part of Malta's outward opening. Our diplomatic and political relations are very good; we must turn this into more concrete business collaborations and private sector partnerships. We need to elevate our social and economic relations to higher levels, facilitate the coming together of our peoples, and open the way for sustainable friendships. As the Marmara Group Foundation, we do not want to just be acquaintances; we want to be partners and friends; we must realize this for the benefit of our peoples and our region.

During our visit to Malta as the Marmara Group Foundation, we saw examples of the historical and cultural unity between us. We believe that efforts should be made to transfer these to the economic field.

Our shared friendship with one of Malta’s important thinkers, Edward De Bono, is the most valuable sign of the closeness we feel towards this island as the Marmara Group Foundation.

Our civil society organization work, the Mediterranean Children’s Movement, established with former Maltese President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, is above all praise and admiration.
