As the Marmara Group Foundation, although we do not share borders with Kosovo, we consider this country as a close neighbor.

On the other hand, the world public opinion stands with the people of Kosovo. More than one hundred countries around the world approach the recognition of Kosovo with moderation, a conciliatory spirit, and respect for international legitimacy.

The deep cooperation we conduct with Kosovo in our capacity as a civil society organization contributes both to the country's development and to strengthening peace and stability in Southeast Europe.

We regard Kosovo as an integral part of both the regional cooperation process and the European organization, and we support initiatives in this direction with our civil society identity. As the Marmara Group Foundation, we continue our joint efforts in international meetings held to address the problems Kosovo faced during its period of non-recognition.

The first international meeting in Istanbul for Kosovo to become an independent state was organized by the Marmara Group Foundation in 1998.

The Marmara Group Foundation is the civil society organization that brought together European Council parliamentarians, Turkish statesmen, diplomats, and Kosovo's leaders of that time to hold the first Kosovo meeting in Istanbul.

After Kosovo gained its independence, it has attached great importance to the Marmara Group Foundation's meetings, especially the Eurasia Economic Summits, and has always participated at the ministerial level and occasionally at the presidential level.
