WE ARE IN THE FOURTEENTH YEAR OF HAYDAR ALIYEVS PASSING

We are in the fourteenth year of Azerbaijani State's National Leader, Haydar Aliyev.

Haydar Aliyev is the founder of today's contemporary and modern Azerbaijan. His works and services were not only important for Azerbaijan, but also for the great Turkish world. He worked for the realization of the Turkish unity; especially bringing the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations to the highest level was one of his biggest aims. With these feelings, with the Baku, Tbilisi, Ceyhan pipeline he created with great faith, he brought his always present thought of "One Nation - Two States" into being and again with his words, tied the two countries with steel ropes.

Haydar Aliyev, who is one of the great leaders of the Turkish world, was a personality who has also served as honorary chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation. Having honored the Marmara Group Foundation in 1997, Haydar Aliyev expressed his desire to become a member of the Marmara Group Foundation after a conference. The Board of Trustees of the Marmara Group Foundation, that was gathered to discuss this request, voted Haydar Aliyev to Honorary President of the Marmara Group Foundation with a decision taken by a unanimous vote.

Accompanied by a large delegation, the Marmara Group Foundation visited Baku to present the Honorary Presidential Certificate to Haydar Aliyev. The Marmara Group Foundation is maintaining the same feelings, same respect and the same loyalty to to Haydar Aliyev and is proud to keep his memory alive.

Commemoration Ceremony in İstanbul: Meanwhile, a Memorial Ceremony was held in front of the Haydar Aliyev Monument in Sarıyer, Istanbul by the Consul General of Azerbaijan Mesim Hajiyev. The participants of the ceremony commemorated Haydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and put flowers on each Monument. On behalf of the Marmara Group Foundation, Dr. Akkan Suver participated at the ceremony.
