The 21^st Eurasian Economic Summit has been realized on 11-12 April 2018 with the participation of 41 countries. Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi, former Deputy Prime Minister and Member of the Parliament Tuğrul Türkeş, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mevlut Uysal were among the participants. Also former President of the Turkish Republic Abdullah Gül, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanic, President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marinko Cavara, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mustafa Akıncı, former President of Moldova Petru Lucinschi, former President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, former President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic, former President of Croatia Stjepan Mesic, former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu participated in the Summit.

has successfully completed the 21^st Eurasian Economic Summit

The 21^st Eurasian Economic Summit, an organization acknowledged as an international unity, has been successfully completed. 41 countries which were represented by Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Speakers of the Parliaments, Ministers, and Members of the Parliaments, business people, academicians and religious leaders attended the summit.

302 international and 761 domestic participants attended the 21^st Eurasian Economic Summit. Former President of Turkey H.E. Abdullah Gül, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Economy H.E. Nihat Zeybekçi, former Deputy Prime Minister and MP H.E. Tuğrul Türkeş, Governor of Istanbul Hon. Vasip Şahin and Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Mevlüt Uysal attended the summit that started with the opening speech of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Binali Yıldırım.

The work of the 21^st Eurasian Economic Summit with the main topic "The Dilemma of our Century: Technology vs. Politics" started with the message of renowned Turkish scientist and Nobel Laureate H.E. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar, that was received with great interest by the participants. The summit consisted of seven separate sessions.

In addition to the sessions, two different ceremonies were realized. In the first ceremony, the MEDAL OF HONOR was presented to those members who have been participating in the summit for the last decade.

Hon. Zerrin Abaz and H.E. Dagva Tsakhilgaan received their medals from H.E. Marinko Cavara, President of the Federation of Bosnia Herzegovina. Hon. Hikmet Tanriverdı and Hon. Prof. Ahmet Kırman received their medals from the President of Bosnia Herzegovina H.E. Mladen Ivanic. Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Binali Yıldırım presented the medals to H.E. Gjorge Ivanov and H.E. Prof. Vujica Lazovic.

A second ceremony was organized for the signing of a partnership and good will agreement between Uzbekistan’s Strategic and Regional Research Institute and the Marmara Group Foundation. The agreement was signed by H.E. Vladimir Norov, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and President of the ISRS and Hon. Dr. Akkan Suver.

As every year, the "Eurasian Economic Summits Cup Race" was organized by the Turkey Jockey Club. After the race, horse owner Ümit Barlık received his cup from Dr. Akkan Suver. While horse trainer G. Kara received his price from Hon. Müjgan Suver, Hon. Sevinç Köklüçınar awarded Jockey Halis Karataş his gift.

The Gala Dinner of the Summit started with a fashion show organized by IHKIB, which has also become a tradition. Renowned designer Dilek Hanif’s exhibition received the sincere admiration of the participants. Both the Gala and Closing Dinners of the Summit were realized with the company of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s City Orchestra. Before the summit, a boat dinner was given for early arriving guests on the Bosphorus.

As Marmara Group Foundation, we have successfully completed the 21^st Eurasian Economic Summit. Further, we have started with our preparations for the 22nd Eurasian Economic Summit to be held in 2019.
