The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), such a new Silk Road project that carries the Azerbaijani gas to Europe through Turkey was held. First gas flow started on TANAP line. In addition to President of Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mustafa Akıncı, President of Azerbaijan, İlham Aliyev, President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić and President of Ukraine, Petro Poroşenko attended the ceremony. The opening speech was held by Rövnag Abdullayev. The ceremony was realized at the Compressor and Metering Stations in Eskişehir. The TANAP project, directly and indirectly, will provide employment of ten thousand people in total.

Dr. Akkan Suver said the following about the project on Azerbaijani television:" I see this new energy corridor of 3,500 km from Azerbaijan to Europe as a project that also contributes to the peace and stability of the region, which maintains the energy security of Europe. I believe that this project would be a symbol of the brotherhood of two countries.

 While the President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey is no longer a country of transit, the President of the Republic o Azerbaijan, İlham Aliyev said that TANAP is the common victory of Turkey and Azerbaijan. The President of Ukraine, Poroşenko emphasized that this project assure the Turkey's role in the transatlantic region. Also, the President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mustafa Akıncı said that TANAP project is a good example for current cooperation.

At the glorious ceremony was attended by the President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, İlham Aliyev, Mustafa Akıncı, Aleksandar Vučić and Petro Poroşenko, TANAP was named "the project that empower the cooperation of Azerbaijan and Turkey". Also, Dr. Akkan Suver and the Secretary General of PABSEC, Prof. Dr. Asaf Hajıyev took part in the ceremony.
