MARMARA GROUP FOUNDATION HOLDS DECEMBER ACADEMIC COUNCIL MEETING

        Marmara Group Foundation Academic Council Meeting was held with participations of the President Dr. Akkan Suver,  the Secretary General Engin Köklüçınar, the President of the Academic Council Prof. Dr. Tunç Erem, the member of Executive Council Aykut Eken, Businessman İsfendiyar Zülfikari, members of the Academic Council and numerous distinguished participants.The President of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu has also participated the meeting as “guest of speaker”.

        During the meeting, Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Branimir Mladenov who has been extending his duties of Consulate General and Embassy for over 10 years and whose duty term is about to expire presently in Ankara, was decorated with the medal of honor of the foundation by President Dr. Akkan Suver and Mr. Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

        Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu told “we have 6 million 300 thousand  unemployed people in Turkey and 700 thousand people joins the laborforce annually. If we want to provide the employment at regular levels, we must keep the economic growth rate of the country high and consistent. If Turkey could just keep the annual economic growth rate at 7 percent, the internal revenue hardly will find the half of Europe Union’s level in the year of 2020, will catch the EU’s values in 2038” in his speech during the meeting.

        The President of the Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver stated that they keep holding the montly meetings and in all of these meetings they bring together most significant people of politics, academics and economics in the country. (15 December 2009)
