On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Consulate General erected a monument on behalf of senior government officials who deliberately chose Turkey as second homeland and died in Istanbul (1918-1920) at Feriköy Cemetery. Besides Deputy Governor of Istanbul İsmail Gültekin and Dr. Akkan Suver, a crowded community attened the ceremony organized by Consul General Mesim Hajiyev.
