THE MARMARA GROUP FOUNDATION(MGV) COMMEMORATES H.E. HAYDAR ALİYEV ON HIS 6th DEATH ANNIVERSARY

        A meeting on H.E. Haydar Aliyev’s 6th Death Anniversary was held in Istanbul under the hosting of the MGV. Hon. Dr. Akkan Suver - the President of the MGV, Hon. Engin Köklüçınar Secretary General of the MGV, H.E. Dr. Hilmi Güler - Parliamentarian & Former Minister of Energy and National Resources of the Republic of Turkey and Hon. Seyyad Aran Sallahlı - Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place in this commemoration ceremony.

        It was underlined by Hon. Salahlı that “H.E. Haydar Aliyev always prioritise the expediences of Azerbaijan Nation  in course of maintaning the relations with Moscow. Dr. Suver stated that H.E.’s  humanity even his opponents in political area and continued his speech by saying “When his opponent H.E. Ebulfeyz Elçibey’s health was critical, H.E. Aliyev showed too much interest on his illness and made him to be moved to GATA-Ankara in order to be healed.  Despite their top level competition in political arena, H.E. Aliyev was deeply regretting when  H.E.Elçibey passed away”.

        Hon. Dr. Hilmi Güler was commenting Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Project and explaining these days of 7 years. Dr. Güler emphasized his affection and sympathy on Turkey and continiued his speech “I had three prominent feature of H.E. Aliyev. His similarity to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, stain of oil on his cheek and decisiveness on the Baku-Tbisili-Ceyhan Project(BTC). It was climbed over mountains whose heigth was 3000 meters or more, thirty steams were rerouted in order to realize this big Project. Even H.E.’s Aliyev’s utmost efforts on defending Turkey’s rights due to the BTC Project in international arena, it will be quite enough to commemorate him with our sincere gratitude”.  (16 December 2009)
