Iftar Dinner of the Marmara

themes of Love and Peace

12th Traditional "Love and Peace
Iftar" of the Marmara Foundation
was held in the Adile Sultan
Palace with the participation of
more than 500 dignitaries.
President of Religious Affairs
of the Republic of Turkey His
Eminence Prof. Dr. Ali
Bardakoğlu and H.E. Prof. Dr.
Veysel Eroğlu, Turkish Minister
of Environment and Forestry,
have delivered interventions at
the dinner. Vatican, U.S.A.,
France, Austria, Saudi Arabia
Ambassadors, consuls of many
countries, Greek, Armenian,
Jewish and Assyrian Religious
leaders were among participants.
"Love and Peace Iftar" which was
organized under sponsorship of
TÜRSAB and through cooperation
with Religious and Social
Research Foundation, has topics
of global warming and ecology.
Herebelow is the statement of
Dr. Akkan Suver during the
dinner :
“We have been organizing iftar
dinners for 11 years with the
topic of intercultural dialogue.
From now on, the topic will be
ecology, global warming and
environmental protection. We
will discuss ecologic problems
in the views of different
religions and cultures".
H.E. Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu,
Turkish Minister of Environment
and Forestry, has stated the
Islamic approchment to the
environmental problems.
Mr.
Başaran Ulusoy, President of
TÜRSAB, has mentioned about the
relation between tourism and
environment and H.E. Antonio
Lucibello, Ambassador of Vatican
in Ankara, has mentioned the
road of approach to the global
warming in the view of
