November meeting of the Academic
Council of the Marmara Foundation was held in Dedeman Hotel with the
participation of H.E.Dr. Hilmi Güler, Turkish Minister of Energy and
Natural Resources.
Minister Guler delivered an intervention during the meeting. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler indicated that Turkey has great potentials about alternative energy resources, such as wind, solar and geothermal energy. Minister Guler also said that there would be a new sector with the construction of wind turbines; and that sector would be larger than automotive sector in Turkey.
Minister Guler also said that Turkey must use its own natural gas and petrol resources to reduce import dependence on energy; added that, they have increased the budget to search for new resources six times more than before.
