The Conference Project between
the Marmara Foundation and the
Cantemir Association
Draft proposal of an annual joint
conference project to be organized and co-sponsored by the Marmara
Foundation and the Cantemir Association, which will be alternately
held in Istanbul and Bucharest, has been established with the
Bucharest visit by the delegation of the Marmara Foundation which is
formed by Mr. Ogan Soysal, Mr. Şamil Ayrım, Dr. Mustafa Aydın and
Gen. Necdet Timur.
According to the draft proposal, the
first conference will be held in Bucharest, on November 17-18, 2008.

Draft Proposal for the
Conference Project between the
Marmara Foundation and the
Cantemir Association
I.
General matters
1.1. An annual joint conference
project to be organized and
co-sponsored by the Marmara
Foundation and the Cantemir
Association, which will be
alternately held in Bucharest
and Istanbul, during or around
the month of November.
1.2. The parties
will/participate in the
Conference with a delegation of
approximately 50 personalities
each, comprised of academicians,
scholars, statesmen,
journalists, civil opinion
formers and NGO leader.
1.3. The time amount for the
meetings is 2 full days (2
nights): from Sunday (arrival of
participants), Monday
(conference sessions) to Tuesday
(participants are leaving).
1.4. The parties will be
allocated equal time for
interventions and speeches.
1.5. The conference will have
one Romanian and one Turkish
moderator.
1.6. The official languages of
the Conference sessions will be
in English and Romanian in
Romania; and English and Turkish
in Turkey.
II. Organizational matters
2.1. The Marmara Foundation
shall cover all travel expenses
from Istanbul to Bucharest;
CANTEMIR ASSOCIATION shall be
responsible for food and
accomodation, as well as
conference expenses (and vice
versa).
2.2. The expenses of the foreign
guests coming from abroad shall
be covered by the party which
made the invitations.
2.3. The organizational matters
shall be delt with by a Project
Group comprised of members from
both parties. The expenses for
the Project Group shall be
covered in the same manner as
no. 2. 2.
Concluded today in 2 languages,
Romanian and English. For each
language there have been
concluded 2 copies.
