GENERAL DIRECTOR OF FOUNDATIONS YUSUF BEYAZIT TALKS IN MARMARA FOUNDATION MEETING

Invited by the Marmara Group Foundation, the General Director of Foundations, Yusuf Beyazıt, talked to the representatives of foundations in Istanbul.

Starting his speech by underlining the importance of foundations, Beyazıt gave detailed information on the new Law of Foundations. Beyazıt stated that the new law would lead to an increase in the revenues of foundations and ease the bureaucratic and administerial processes faced by them. Beyazıt also said that the new law was prepared in a participative manner and that the General Directorate had taken all the suggestions, which numbered over 100, into account while preparing the bill.

In the proceeding part of his speech, Beyazıt described the activities and operations of his institution. On the restoration operations, stressing that there were over 1800 construction sites all around the country, Beyazıt said “there is no more a need for restoration in any of the historical and architectural monuments in Anatolia”. Beyazıt added that they had also started an extensive restoration operation in Istanbul. Beyazıt also stated that they were distributing meal to 103 thousand families everyday, providing financial aid to orphans and the poor in the amount of 239 TL per month, and were granting 50 TL monthly scholarship to the needy high school pupils.
