President of the
Marmara
Foundation Dr.
Akkan Suver
received the
“Medal of
Progress” from
the Republic of
Azerbaijan. Dr.
Suver received
the medal with a
special
ceremony, on 17
March 2006, in
Bakü from H.E.
İlham ALIYEV –
President of the
Republic of
Azerbaijan. At
the same
ceremony Mr.
Şamil Ayrım –
Former
Parliamentarian
and the Former
Chairperson of
the Friendship
Group of the
Inter-Parliamentary
of Turkey and
Azerbaijan and
Member of the
Executive
Council of the
Marmara
Foundation
received the
same medal.
During the
ceremony
President Aliyev
stated his
pleasure about
the activities
of the Marmara
Foundation on
the way of
developing
relations of
Turkey and
Azerbaijan.
Dr. Suver said
that: “I
received this
very valuable
medal because of
our
contributions to
the Relations of
Turkey and
Azerbaijan.
Actually I see
that I am not
the only owner
of this medal;
the Turkish
Nation that I
represent is the
real owner of
this valuable
medal.”
