                                                                14 July 2007

His Excellency Horst Köhler

President of the Federal Republic of Germany

Berlin, Germany

Your Excellency,

I have the honour to present to Your Excellency’s is kind attention the case of the recent German  ‘ Migration Act ’ , which has deeply hurt and offended Turks, since in its current form this piece of legislation contains blatant disregard for Human Rights.

What makes it worse and an act of discrimination is that its implemantation will only apply to those people of Turkish origin who have contributed so much to the development of Germany and Germany’s present high standard of living and welfare .

Since the adoption of these amendmends under consideration will clearly ignore the United Nations Universal Declaration of the Human Rights,  and all relevant European Values , we sincerely hope that in your  position of  highest authority for approval , Your Excellency will kindly avoid the ratification of this unfortunate ‘ Act ’.

Please accept Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and personal esteem.

( Signed )

Müjgan Suver
