Ersin Tatar Honored the Marmara Group Foundation with H

Ersin Tatar, the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, attended the 36th Term 1st Session meeting of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation in Istanbul as a Guest-Speaker. 

The event started with the opening speech of The President of the Marmara Group Foundation Dr. Akkan Suver. Emphasizing that the Marmara Group Foundation is an intellectuals platform, Dr. Suver noted that the Foundation was accepted nationally and internationally. Expressing that Cyprus is the first country that the Marmara Group Foundation established relations with in the international arena, Dr. Akkan Suver described the Founding President Rauf Denktaş as a hero. Also mentioning that they are proud to host President Ersin Tatar, Suver stated that Tatar successfully carried the legacy that he inherited from his father, Rüstem Tatar. After the biography of President Ersin Tatar was read, a barcovision was screened. In his speech at the event, President Tatar thanked everyone and stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus exists thanks to the cooperation between Turkey and TRNC. President Tatar stated TRNC will be stronger in the coming years, in cooperation with the Turkic Republics. President Tatar states that the Cypriot people took their lands back with a great struggle after emphasizing the statement "We are the main owner of Cyprus". At the event, President Ersin Tatar was also invited to the 25th Eurasian Economic Summit, which will take place on 7-9 June 2022. 

At the meeting, Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Deputy Orhan Erdem, Mayor of Avcılar Turan Hançerli, Former Minister Ali Talip Özdemir were present along with Academics Prof. Dr. Ilter Turan, Prof. Dr. Ersin Kalaycıoğlu, Prof. Dr. Turhan Ece, Prof. Dr. Şenay Yalçın, Prof. Dr. Mesut Parlak, Prof. Dr. Uğur Özgöker and Bülent Soylan. There were also several businesspeople in the event including Sırrı Şimşek, Hüsamettin Kavi, Turan Sarıgülle, Asuman Dayı as well as veteran Ahmet Yavuz and other Marmara Group Foundation members. Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu and Mithat Rende, retired Ambassadors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Seniha Birand Çınar, the Consul General of TRNC in Istanbul, and members of the Consulate General of TRNC were also present at the meeting.
