At the meeting organized by the Parliament of Romania, Dr. Suver said "The Silk Road is the project of the century".

The speech of Dr. Akkan Suver is exactly as follows;

" Dear President,

I am glad to be here with you today.

First of all, I would like to present my special thanks to the Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning due to gathering us for discussing about energy in Parliament of Bucharest today.

I would like to appoint on two important topics in my speech.

These two projects will generate togetherness and collaboration for our common future.

First one is TANAP.

Şahdeniz and TANAP are being realized with the cooperation of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

In 2018, it is expected that the gas in Middle East and Mediterranean will be reached to Europe by passing through Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece.

The gas transferring from Middle East and Mediterranean will initially be 10 billion cubic meter with TANAP. It is expected that the capacity will be increased to 40 billion cubic meters.

Moreover, the total natural gas consumption of EU countries, Switzerland and Turkey is 510 billion cubic meter. This amount coincides with 30% of this amount. 155 billion cubic meter gas is being imported from Russia. Eastern Europe countries such as Bulgaria are totally dependent on Russian gas. Turkey is only dependent on Russian gas in the level of 55-57%. European countries dependence on the import Russian gas is in the level of 50% and it will increase to 60% in 2020. Furthermore, the countries such as Turkmenistan, Iran and Iraq can provide alternative gas sources to TANAP.

10 billion cubic meter natural gas will be able to be transferred by passing through Turkey after 2018 with TANAP. In 2025, it is expected that the amount will increase to 40 billion cubic meters.

The second one is Silk Road.

We, as Marmara Group Foundation, consider the Silk Road as “philosophy of age”. Silk Road is not only a trade but also an energy transmission line. It is a peace project spreading from London to Beijing, Beijing to Russia and Pacific to Atlantic. It is a welfare and prosperity road. The project comprises approximately 3.5 billion area and will connect Beijing to London, Moscow, Berlin, Paris and Bucharest.

TANAP is an opportunity for the countries of Black Sea. The Silk Road is a part of this opportunity.

Silk Road is Eurasia.

TANAP absolutely will take part in Silk Road.

Middle East and Central Asia will develop and the need of energy and product of Middle East, Balkans and Europe will be provided feasibly with Silk Road.

The trade by the sea will connect Silk Road to Atlantic by passing through Pacific, Suez and Mediterranean. Continents will come together in global economy in the future.

The World Bank initiated such a vision that it’s named Global Infrastructure Fund and it brings national and regional actors of public and private sector. Moreover, G-20 countries supports the project.

To adapt this comprehensive model to Silk Road project- especially adaptation of Europe, China and Russia- will strengthen the initiatives available. For instance, it will provide consolidation of the strategy of getting easier of transportation and trade regarding to Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program executing with the support of European Restructuring and Development Bank under the cover of Asia Development Bank.

It is required not only common financing but also effective coordination and belief is necessary for success of this project. At that point, the experience concerning reconciliation and adaptation of Europe is very important. European Union would like to enhance the international transportation system. Due to reason, EU designed the approach of main corridors.

The aim is to provide a basis for integration and infrastructure for management and development. This approach will also provide dialogue between different cultures. There will be standards of security and safety between member countries. There will be an innovative strategy like common transportation system such as railway line.

Therefore, TANAP and Silk Road will open new horizons in information technologies, trade and energy transmission lines. These are important peace and welfare projects for humanity.

Once again congratulating you for your initiative to contribute in the common efforts for building a safer region, where our fellow-citizens will live in safe and dignified surroundings.

At the meeting held in Parliament in Romania, futuristic opinions was discussed and Dr. Akkan Suver attached great importance to TANAP Project.

Professor Dr. Tahsin Cemil was Chairman of the meeting and President of Nizami Ganjavi Foundation Ruşen Muradov gave a speech.

Dr. Akkan Suver's speech exactly as follows;

Dear President,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am proud to come to Bucharest as the guest of distinguished former President H.E. Emil Constantinescu. I am delighted to be here.

I would like to start my speech by appreciating the hosts due to hold on this great conference.

As Marmara Group Foundation, we support and care great importance to Silk Road.

In Cold War period, economies were not global. Trade was not strong as present, there was no relationship based on interest like today.

Currently, globalization is a new market that changed trade mentality and with this, the World becomes a common market.

Due to the increasing economic and commercial relations between Europe and Asia, the need of land connection from Europe to China and South Asia has increased.

This is an important value in terms of energy. The transmission of hydrocarbon sources from Caucasus, Central Asia to Europe is very important.

Currently, the power of economic attraction has been integrated towards East and the possibility of trade is multi-alternative. President of People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping presented his opinions and strategies of Silk Road Economic Belt and Silk Road in the sea.

These strategies has been adopting and supporting by Marmara Group Foundation and with the realization of these strategies, the Silk Road Economic Belt will be the largest economic corridor in the world.

These corridors will contain approximately four billion populations and GNP in the region will reach at least 21 trillion US dollars.

This project is an opportunity that will prevent Balkanization occurred in Cold War era in history and the project aims at more trade, more value circulation and more prosperity for the World.

This project is an opportunity for preventing conflict in Eastern Europe like Balkans and gives responsibility to the related parties.

In consequence, for providing cooperation and trust, it is required to guarantee of “win-win”.

In order to reveal the potential of Silk Road Economic Belt, it needs to a large vision that should include diversity of financing, multi-ownership and different players.

The dialogue occurs when countries come together with substantial solutions. It causes beneficial cooperation reciprocally. Silk Road provides economic possibilities for security. Silk Road is a peace and welfare project.

We have started 21st century with various new explorations by completing 20th century. In this new century, a great innovation wave has occurred. With Bio-technology, artificial intelligence and nano-technology the life conditions will reach a better position. Winners will be nations. They will be able to sustain their growth and developments by saving “intellectual capitalism”.

Countries, whom are using science and technology for development and growth, will develop much more via intellectual capitalism and they will provide more prosperity to their people.

I believe Silk Road will contribute to humanity.

While greeting you once more in Bucharest, I should like to extend my warmest appreciation to our hosts, for this excellent organization and fruitful meeting, which will definitely yield positive results.
