In the Energy Session of the 11th Eurasian Economic Summit it has been stressed that more than 60 percent of global energy flow has been carried out by ships and almost half of these ships reach their destination using the Turkish straits. With respect to that, the role of Black Sea in the transportation of energy and the Straits’ condition has been discussed.

Stating that 150 million ton petroleum has been transported to Mediterranean every year and remembering that this amount corresponds to the 8 percent of annual petroleum transportation by oil tankers, the participants of the 11th Eurasian Economic Summit stressed the significance of the NABUCCO Project.

The general consensus of the Energy Session was to reduce the traffic in the Straits caused by the oil tankers in order to increase the safety of the environment and improve the level of sustainable development. Furthermore, it’s been suggested that the NABUCCO Project will bring competition, balance and security to Europe.

The discussants also argued that since the price level of natural gas is bound to the oil prices, any increase in the price level of petroleum will cause extra expenditures and budget constraints on the European economies.

It is also a general consensus that in the next five years the energy map of the world for the century will be redrawn and the Eurasian region and Turkey will play a central role in the future of this restructuring.

-          In the special session held on the second day of the 11th Eurasian Economic Summit 5 Sagacious Contemporary Statesmen of Europe expressed that it will be impossible for Europe to take a leading role in the world without Turkey. They also argued that for a healthy integration, Europe should embrace cultural diversity without any discrimination.

-          On the second day, in the Energy Session of the 11th Eurasian Economic Summit the subjects of  Europe, Africa, East Asia, energy, global warming and climate change, global financial structure, entrepreneurship in the Eurasian economies, information technologies, outsourcing and efficiency have been discussed. It’s been also stressed that Eurasia is and will be the rising global power with the successful implementation of the democratic, economic and social reforms.

-          The participants also expressed that education is indispensible for a healthy economy, and high-level security, and it is the key for the global competitive power. In this respect the countries which fall behind in their level of education capabilities and entrepreneurship can never have a high level of development and will be left without any hopes for the future.

-          11th Eurasian Economic Summit is also praised by the participants for its efforts to bring the subjects of dialogue and peace on the agenda. The central idea of Dialogue Session on the third day of the Summit was each individual should be free to have his/her own interpretation of sacred texts and each interpretation should be regarded as valuable as the others.

-          The 11th Eurasian Economic Summit is concluded with the suggestions to place more emphasis on the subjects of climate change, environmental protection and ecology on the next years agenda.
